EUROPÄISCHE ARBEITSGEMEINSCHAFT DER NIEDERGELASSENEN ÄRZTE EUROPEAN WORKING GROUP OF PRACTITIONERS AND SPECIALISTS IN FREE PRACTICE GROUPEMENT EUROPÉEN DES MÉDICINS EN PRATIQUE LIBRE

                                                HELSINKI DECLARATION

On the occasion of its meeting in Helsinki the European Group of Doctors in Free Practice - E.A.N.A. - noted that the evolution of medical care made available to patients and accompanied by an improvement in the quality of care can not be obtained without an increase in costs but will inevitably lead to an increase in health expenditure. Medical care should therefore not only adapt to economic requirements but also take into account medical data.

The E.A.N.A. stressed that emergency care is an important part of the work of private doctors. It is nonetheless necessary that the physicians concerned have theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject. It will be necessary to coordinate better the different emergency services.
